Re: Snaggle is really poorly

Infection can make them feel awful and this combined with being hospitalised on IV fluids-most cats would find this stressful and sleep a lot afterwards- I'm not surprised to hear all he wants to do is sleep! Presumably he's had a high fever a well. Glad to hear vomiting has ceased. Eating is a good sign though for one thing he'll need all his reserves to fight this! Also shows he's responding to the antibiotics.

I doubt very much if it's diabetes - bloods would have shown high glucose-though stress can also elevate levels artificially- for one thing and anyway it's sounds very unlikely all things considered! I also wonder if the heart murmur ( if recent ) is secondary to this illness as some are, and when he's recovered, it should resolve on it's own!

It isnt a recent heart murmur, it was first diagnosed about 3 years ago and the vet said it wasnt any worse, which was a relief.

Re: Snaggle is really poorly

Guess who is up and about and eating and trying to get out of the house? I'll give you a clue, he looks like this

I'll get a new photo of him tomorrow but I thought you should see who I've been talking about, The vet was very pleased with him and thinks its almost certainly been an infection somewhere that hes responding nicely to.
