Question Wet food help?!

Well I have finally found a wet food that Chewitts will eat happily!!! What is it?? Feline Fayre!! Great I hear you say!! Well it would be if I could actually get to Asda easily!! Which I can't I was only over there the other day as my friend took me in her car!!! Arggghhhhhhhhhh!!

So my question is this, bareing in mind FF is min70% meat and all natural in a clear jelly out of the following foods.... Purely, Naturesmenu, Hilife what would be the best to get?? Are any of them like flakes of meat/fish like FF is?? Are they good foods??

I may look into getting some wet food from Zooplus but for over christmas I need something now as Chewitts is now on Meloxicam for arthritis in her back legs (she is only 5yrs old but was stood on *not by me I might add* when she was 11 weeks old!!) and I like to make sure she has eaten a decent amount before I give her the meds. Normally she just free feeds from her dry

Thanks in advance xxxx

Re: Wet food help?!

Of those listed Purely is the most similar to Feline Fayre, it is strips in jelly however in my experience it isn't as well accepted. Some of the varieties of HiLife are not dissimilar either. Natures Menu is the best quality but being a soft pate style it is very different to Feline Fayre.

You can also get Feline Fayre at Morrisons and Home Bargains, i'm not sure if you have any of these near you. The blue pouches are complementary whereas the black pouches are supposedly complete.

Nope not got either of those near me either!! arghhhh morrisons is next to the asda and Home bargins is a distance from me as well!! OH how I wish I could drive!!! I was reading the reviews on purely and it deffo doesnt seem to be accepted with a lot of cats but as the main flavour is tuna and that seems to be what Chewitts likes I think I will give it a bash!! It was the black FF that I got for her.

I have just been looking at zooplus is almo nature a complete food or complementary???

Re: Wet food help?!

my local pet shop is brilliant - it has lots of high meat & the people know about food! hi life & natures menu are pate type. - try yours? they may also sell singly so you can test it with them

i got some hi life potty about gravy from wilkinsons - its chunks in gravy - not the shedded stuff like FF but may be less of a change?

Re: Wet food help?!

Hobbs warns us that the FF is pretty low in fat for a supposedly complete food, so do watch out for that if you are feeding a large proportion of that.
Asda deliver for VERY reasonable charge, from £2 in fact. I recently registered as a new shopper and got £10 cash back through Quidco too.

Grrrr typical I thought it probably was but it looks just the sort of thing Chewitts would eat!!!

Well I think I will get some purely and see how they go with it! Can but try and can always donate the left over to my local shelter that I foster for!!

Re: Wet food help?!

Asda do home delivery so perhaps you can do your regular food shop online and get the kitty food that way?

I don't have a car either and do all my regular food shops online - there is a delivery charge but it works out cheaper as I don't have to pay for a cab and I don't impulse buy walking down every aisle!
