Flea Trouble
My British shorthair cross has fleas. I am having trouble putting the frontline on him because of his very thick fur. When I part the fur at his neck I can only see the downy undercoat, never clear skin, and I think because of this the frontline is not effective. I have been flea combing him and have treated the house with proprietary flea spay but would like to know are there any other treatments that would work better with his type of fur?

Re: Flea Trouble
One of our cats has thick, downy fur like this - we just part it as much as possible and put the treatment on (advocate, in our case, but it works the same) - no problems. Try it and see how you go. If you have a flea problem, it might also be worth spraying some flea killer and having a good clean with the hoover over beds, sofas and particularly where the cat sleeps most.
