Natures Menu Banquet Nuggets
I'd just like to start of by thanking all involved in the forum. I've been a sneaky stalker for months now and picked up quite a bit of information on how best to feed my lil fellas.
I'm now trying to look into feeding them a more raw diet, and so far making it myself looks a little too tricky and time consuming, but I'll continue to research it. In the mean time I've been trying to find somewhere that sells raw foods in Ireland and have had little to no luck. The best I've found is a video recommending Natures Menu Banquet Nuggets Puppy food - Natural puppy foods from Natures Menu Junior dog food range I've tried searching the forum for information on those but I've come up empty handed. From my still admittedly limited knowledge, by looking at the ingredients it does look a more cat friendly that the other frozen stuff there like the complete blocks and Prize Choice products, but friendly enough? The video I watched BARF for Cats!*|*Tail Waggers says to just add some extra taurine to be safe. But would it be safe? I'm sure the experts here will be able to guide me Thanks |

Re: Natures Menu Banquet Nuggets
Sorry for double posting and bumping but if someone could answer that would be great, and if the advice given in the video is misplaced, or God forbid, even dangerous, it would be best to know.

Re: Natures Menu Banquet Nuggets
Hey Disco Spider, welcome to the forum and congrats on taking the leap and posting!
Unfortunately, my computer doesn't allow me to open the NM link - it apparently contains malware. Any chance that you can just post the ingredients here? I am just wondering whether it is the raw stuff that contains a whack of vegetables. Haven't watched the video but added taurine cannot be a bad thing - particularly if we are talking about ground raw food. |

Re: Natures Menu Banquet Nuggets
Sure, no problem.
Ingredients Chicken Min 32%, Tripe 28%, Lamb 14%, Carrots 10%, Peas 10%, Heart 3%, Liver 3% Typical Analysis Moisture 65%, Protein 12%, Oil 10%, Ash 2.4%, Fibre 0.3% The vegetable content is lower than other Natures Menu stuff but I'm thinking that's still too high? |

Re: Natures Menu Banquet Nuggets
Just wanted to add, it really is not all that complicated making raw at home. I use one of these
Kenwood MG510 Meat Grinder: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home and follow a proper recipe ( either one that Hobbs gave me or Lisa Pierson's ) If your cat will eat chunks of bone-in meat then you dont even need the grinder. |
