Flea and Worming - how often

Our two kittens were fleaed and wormed by the Cats Protection when we got them, just wondering how often they need to be done?

Thanks
Kathryn

Re: Flea and Worming - how often

Worming every month until 6 months old, then every 6 months, flea treatment tends to be every month all the time.

Re: Flea and Worming - how often

My boys get wormed every 6 months. They've never been treated for fleas as they don't have any and are unlikely to get any being strictly indoor only. Don't see the point in using chemicals unnecessarily - obviously if they ever do manage to pick up fleas I will treat them!

Sorry, forgot to day that's adult cats, not kittens.

Re: Flea and Worming - how often

This year seems to have been really bad for fleas. Maybe it's the mild autumn. But I'm also wondering if one Frontline pipette is not enough for a 7kg cat? I can't find anything on the pack which states an upper weight limit. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Flea and Worming - how often

Frankie is an outdoor adult cat, he's flead every 5 weeks and wormed every 3 months. Seb is 4 months and wormed every month and will be up to 6 months and flead every 5 weeks (vet recommendation as Frank goes out) Both with Drontal and Frontline.

Re: Flea and Worming - how often

Thanks for the replies, think I need to get them wormed again as we have had them 6/7 weeks

Will pop out to the supermarket later and see what they have
