Cat Sneezing

My cat has been sneezing a lot over the last day or two. Do cats get colds like us? If so is there anything I should do?

Sorry if this sounds a silly question but

Re: Cat Sneezing

It could be a sign of cat flu. One of mine sneezed a lot and started to sound very clogged up/chesty, it's nothing antibiotics can't sort out though. She does still sneeze sometimes but unless she starts to sound snotty again I'm not worried.

If you're worried just pop along to the vets, like I said a simple course of antibiotics is more than likely all that is needed if anything is needed at all.

Re: Cat Sneezing

He had his cat flu injection last week so it shouldn't be that. He doesn't sound snotty and he seems well enough. I will keep and eye on him though just in case.

Sometimes the vaccination can cause them to sneeze Im sure he will be fine in a few days, but if you are concerned at all just give your vet a ring & see what they say

Re: Cat Sneezing

Hi,
Was just about to post a similar question on here but I searched for "sneezing" and found this. Pebbles has also been sneezing a few times over the past day or so and occasionally has a bit of a runny nose (sometimes). Her eating, breathing, sleeping are all normal, she doesn't have runny eyes and her toilet habits and "output" are normal. It's just a bit of sneezing and a very little bit of a runny nose. She hasn't been vaccinated against flu.

Is this too likely to be cat flu? Is it common and does it require a trip to the vets? The vets is always a very stressful affair for Pebbles so we like to avoid it unless absolutely necessary.

Hope Kedi is better soon!

You can carry the cat flu virus in on yourself but even cats who have been vaccinated can come down with it just not as badly personally I would get Pebbles vaccinated in the near future & keep an eye on her for now if she gets any worse though vets Im afraid.

Ok will do. She can stay in the bedroom for a while, if she does have flu I don't want her passing it onto the other 2. She doesn't seem to be sneezing much today, just saw her will a little runny nose earlier but it's been normal again for most of the morning.

Edit: The other 2 are now sneezing. The dog sneezed earlier as well, could be related??
