Worms!!! :(

Hello everybody,
today i have to get my 13 weeks old to the vet for her second vaccination, he said she was going to get wormed again, she might have picked that up and decided to get worms just so that the treatment wouldnt be a waste! basically i noticed some tiny, but still amazingly disgusting worms just next to the litter tray after she had a poo, and some "dried" ones on the sofa where she sleeps this morning
so, treatment on the side (im sure the vet will help with that), what should i do in terms of cleaning/hygiene? the sofa she sleeps on has a fabric cover, do i need to wash it in a hot wash and use antibacterial cleaners on places where she goes? i'm not keen in using chemical stuff, but for her health and mine, but i'm wondering if for this i need to be a little stronger?
any other advice regarding this is extremely welcome!!

Re: Worms!!! :(

Hi,

I would watch your cover if you are washing it at anything above 40...it may shrink.

Im sure just washing it at 40 with normal washing powder should do the trick.

And i would disinfect or bleach everything else.

Hope you get it sorted soon...poor little guy eh??

Re: Worms!!! :(

thanks for the advice!
just one more thing.. as i said, i only noticed it/found out a couple of days ago, and today i saw her going to the litter tray a few times without doing anything, and at times she even meowed a little, and she also started being more aggressive and misbehaving than usual, to the point where i'm having problems doing my usual activities as i constantly need to check where she is, or she just jumps on me and start biting hard (not lightly and playfully like she normally does). is this normal?

Re: Worms!!! :(

well, she's always quite hyper and playful, but today seems to be more than usual, and keeps on doing all the things i taught her (quite successfully so far!) not to do
