Developed Cat Allergy please help!

Hello everyone,

Sadly for me and my family have developed Cat Allergys. Is there any possiblitiy i can give a tablet to my cat to stop this from happening. As without any doubts do i want to give her up because i love her wayyyy too much to even do that. I much rather leave the house then to get rid of her!

Any ideas or sites i can buy the tablets that can stop the allergies would be most greatful.

Kind regards,

Marafi

Take a pill for humans - it's called Piriton. (there is nothing for cats)

It is incredibly unusual for a whole family to suddenly become allergic to a valued pet - mushroom spores are prevalent this time of year are you sure it isn't this or another irritant?

Re: Developed Cat Allergy please help!

to know what Allergy you have it is best to have a test at the hospital.
You have to go through your Doctor.
My Hubby developed an allery and we thought it was from a fluffy cat that we had at the time. we were very upset but the tests showed that it was dust mites and fungal spores which as spid says is very comman this time of the year.

My longhair cat would have me sneezing and sneezing, but that didn't stop me kissing him!

Re: Developed Cat Allergy please help!

It is strange the whole family has developed an allergy to cats. As another poster said, it is more likely to be another seasonal allergen.

Re: Developed Cat Allergy please help!

I think its the season and dust mites. I have hovered each and every room. Now though her fur has developed white specs at her back near her tail. Gave her a shower it went and now its back what on earth could it be? I dont think she is drinking water. she loves felix though im tempted to move her back to whisaks.

Also many thanks for your help. It does not stop me from kissing her too! And my family loves her Loads. I think its because she is soo relaxing. She has winter fat though its good for her. because she is SOooooo CUTE! lol

Just found out there is a lotion i can use for the cat. And next time i groom her fur it will be outside! The lotion to wipe the cat down is PetalCleanse.

Re: Developed Cat Allergy please help!

It sounds like she has dandruff. Possibly because the food you are feeding her isn't the best - have a look on the sticky about wet feeding and try something a bit better quality.

Re: Developed Cat Allergy please help!

Tbh you could probably feed raw cheaper and it's insanely better for your cat.

As for allergies, I'm allergic to my rats who live in my room, I've resigned myself to minimal handling and a cetirizine tablet once a day.

I also seem to react to dust mites and spores too, but generally my allergy tablet and inhalers control that.
