Fishy cat food

Hello all! I'm currently feeding Eric the Purely wet food from pets at home as he will only eat fish based cat foods and Applaws was getting a little bit expensive now he can easily wolf down 2 small tins a day! With Applaws he doesnt like one of the flavours in the multipack either so i ended up with a number of wasted tins. Just wondered if anyone can recommend a more reasonably priced wet food with a higher meat content than Purely?? Has to be very fishy! Cheers

Hi, have you tried Bozita and Animonda Carny from zooplus? My cats like it, it's not a junk food like Whiskas and reasonably priced.

Try Feline Fayre, the blue sachets are complementary, on offer in Asda at 4 for £1 and my lot love the Pilchard flavour ( not so mad on the others )
The black tins are on offer 3 for £1 and say they are complete, tuna white meat and kind of similar to Applaws.
They also do 400g tuna red meat for 60p
Saisburys also do a range of 85g tins for 60p in which they do a tuna flavour, also a chicken in light sauce which my lot love.

I’d recommend Smilla Fish pots, they actually have pieces of real fish in them. It’s really good quality and great price. My Tigger loved it!
Zooplus.co.uk sell it.

Re: Fishy cat food

He has had Bozita, Carny and Smila before but he doesn't seem to like those either! He is ridiculously fussy. I've tried Nature's Menu, Royal Canin and Animoda Rafine too plus a load of odd supermarket brands but he won't eat anything!

He likes Purely at the the minute which is 5 cans for £2, the equivelent sized can of Applaws is £1.35 each which i've not prepared to pay as it isn't even a complete food! Can't afford to ay over £40 a month on just wet food.

I might try the Smila fish pot ones as he does seem to prefer ones with real bits of fish in them.

Smila fish pots the 400g tins work out at 95p each when you buy 24 so that's a bargain really, i'm going to buy the taster pack to see if he likes it!

Re: Fishy cat food

Alternatively, try to wean him off his fish obsession. Consdiering that he very much likes the Purely stuff at the moment, mix in some non-fishy food that you would like him to eat. Start with just a morsel but increase it over time (very slowly). You never know, you might make a meat eater out of him
