frontline flea spot on

Hi, tried this tonight for the first time, I must have done it too quickly though as it ran down his back a bit and now he can get his head round and lick it he has licked it a couple of times and obviously it is disgusting. Is there anything I can do to stop him from licking it, obviously at the moment I am distracting him but when I go to bed? And any tips for next time?

I did it wrong the first time, too, so she licked at it, much to her annoyance. I think after half an hour or so it's supposed to be dry, so I don't think you need to be worried about during the night.

My advice: sit the kitty on your lap facing away from you, part the fur (make sure you part it side to side like parting your own hair, and not top to bottom...it makes less mess side to side), put the tip of the pipette against the skin and slowly squeeze. Put the Frontline on the base of the skull, not between the shoulder-blades, as they can turn their head to lick it off there.

Thanks for your reply, that makes me feel a bit better! I think thats probably what I did wrong as the liquid ran along his neck and then started to run down the side, will try that next time, thanks.

word of warning though, although few take notice of the warnings on such products, my niece came shortly after we'd uses frontline (which we've done on all our cats for years with no probs) and must've rubbed her eyes, they reacted immed and she looked like she'd done ten rounds!

Yikes! I waited until the kids were in bed and have been careful not to handle him too much tonight, he has settled down now on the cushion and is not licking it anymore. Just shows you that you have to be so careful with that stuff eh?

vet can give injections that sposed 2 last 6 months. we've never tried that, but might be worthwhile if ur kids like mine and can't resist stroking whenever demanded to do so!

I found a lot of great animal health care tips in a book called "Living Life," by Randy Wysong.
