Re: fatties or normal?

This is not unusual hun. Kittens burn off SO much energy - they are minature dustbins!!!

They also grow SOOOOOOO quickly so the general rule of thumb is just let them eat as much as they want.

As they get older, they will start to self-regulate and become more 'grazing' (eat a bit, leave it, go back for a bit more....)

Don't worry about it too much.

How are you feeding them? If you can do lots of small feeds more often, that is the best for them. If they gorge too much they can barf it back up because they overfill their wee tummies. Nice!!!

Re: fatties or normal?

ok thanks

they have had a portion at 8am, 11.30 and 2.30

so 370g divided between 2 kittys - 185g each - split into 3 portions = 62g

so they eating roughly 60g each meal, hows that?

xx

At the moment they are putting away about 600g each a day, easily! They've been known to eat over 700g each a day. Yes, I did say each Thankfully that has only happened a couple of times and I'm guessing they were having a growth spurt.

Hopefully they'll start to self-regulate soon cos they're costing me a fortune! Skye is still only 2.5kg though Spencer on the other hand will be closer to 4kg Separate feeding now though.

They are fed whenever their bowls are empty though and get about 100g in their bowl each time but it isn't all eaten in one sitting - they come and go from it

Prepare yourself
