2 questions re kitten's diet

Hi there,
I have 2 questions about my kitten's diet that I'm hoping you can help with..

Firstly, at what age should you start restricting the amount a kitten eats? I have always read that a kitten should be allowed to eat as much as they want while they're young and I have been heeding this as my kitten was incredibly underweight until recently as she was sick. She is now 5 months old and still small for her age but I am concerned about her over eating, so should I now only feed her 2-3 times a day or continue to feed her whenever she in hungry?
For info, she is currently eating about 2.5-3 pouches of wet food a day in about 5 smaller meals.

Second question - can anybody recommend a sensitive wet food? As Inca has been so poorly she's currently eating the Royal Canin Sensitivity Control pouches but these are so expensive from the vet and also not recommended for long term use. I tried Anomonda Carny but this upset her stomach straight away so I'm looking for something else that is a sensitive food.

thanks in advance

Re: 2 questions re kitten's diet

Can't help on the sensitive food front but my two still get fed as much as they want. I will be doing this until they are a year old, they should start to self-regulate by then anyway

Skye is still underweight at 7 months old so have started feeding them separately as I think Skye feels like she has to let Spencer eat her food too as she eats so much slower than him. Both of them still look slim for their age and they can easily put away 600g of food each a day, although I suspect Spencer was getting more by eating Skye's too
