Re: Has anyone got any views on Taste of The Wild Vension Dry Food?
Mine eat it and have been for the last couple of years. They are mostly on wet, but this is the "snacking" dry to have out during the day. They don't seem to have any issues with it. They're all healthy and shiny and happy. Only one out of 6 with a major health issue (Henry, 11, just diagnosed with hyperthyroidism) but I put that down to age, my old misconceptions about what's right to feed, etc. Fat little Gwennie has lost some weight on it too--it became my dry of choice when switching to grain free as it seems high quality and is pretty reasonably priced.
They all like it too. I go between the venison/salmon and the trout/salmon so they don't get bored or picky if one flavor or another for some reason isn't available.

Re: Has anyone got any views on Taste of The Wild Vension Dry Food?
As far as dry foods go it is definitely one of the better ones and in my experience most cats do like it.
If you are planning to feed it solely, then it might be worth emailing the manufacturer to ask the Ash content of the food, from memory this isn't listed. Some grain free dry foods tend to be very high is Ash which may have the potential to contribute to urinary problems. |

For a grain free dry food I would consider 7-8% to be a reasonable Ash content, if it was over 9.5-10% it may be a concern.

Re: Has anyone got any views on Taste of The Wild Vension Dry Food?
The crude ash content of Taste of the Wild is about 8.9% (9.9% at dry matter)
Rule of thumb is that grain-free dry foods contain more crude ash than foods that contain grains (exception being one Almo Nature food - the venison one). Of the grain-free ones, Applaws has the highest crude ash content (with over 10%), while Orijen and Acana are around 7 and 7.5%. |

Re: Has anyone got any views on Taste of The Wild Vension Dry Food?
I have decided I am going to keep her on the Taste of the Wild Rocky Mountains food as I have tried her on almost everything else and this seems to be the healthiest dry food I have come across. Regarding kidney and urinary problems she hasn't had any and to be honest she is really healthy according to the vet I use. The vet also told me on the last visit in October there is nothing wrong with feeding cats dry food as not all cats eat wet food plus some of the wet food out there has more grain in it than the dry food. I am not entering into this debate over wet food is better than dry food as it is silly. My cat will not eat wet food and only wastes it which at the end of the day has cost me alot of money trying to find out if she will eat wet food. All cats are different.
