Nature Diet for Cats?? or something similar

My cat Purdy is nearly 12. she has always been a tiny little thing and very fussy with her food. As she has got older she refuses to eat dry food, even the most expensive.

She likes the wet pouches, but I am not keen on feeding whiskers etc or others of that quality.

I was wondering if there was a cat equivelent of Natures Diet (dog food) or something similar. she only eats 3 small meals a day now that she wont eat any biscuit.

This is purely a choice of hers, her teeth and gums are in excellent condition and she still has high energy levels. In fact, she has only ever been to the vets for the normal boosters.

Re: Nature Diet for Cats?? or something similar

Don't worry about not feeding dry food most people on here would agree that an all wet diet was best. I'm not really familiar with dog food but I had a look at the nature diet food and I assume you're looking for a high meat content food without artificial flavours, colourings, preservatives etc.

The good news is there's plenty out there but it depends whether you are happy to order from the net or if you want to be something from a shop. Considering your cat is fussy I suspect you may want to be able to pick up a few pouches locally to see if your cat takes to it. Natures Menu is available from Pets at Home and some in some pet shops. If you are happy to order online then foods such as Grau, Animonda Carny and Bozita (pate better than chunks) are available from Zooplus and would fit the bill.

Just remember to change her food over slowly to avoid an upset tum.

Hello, I just looked at the cat forum for that very same question! How did your cat go on, did you try her on Natures Menu or anything? We'd like to change our cat's food to something along the lines of the dog food Nature Diet.

Re: Nature Diet for Cats?? or something similar

I bought some hi life senior pouches in chicken dinners which she wasn't that keen on, even though it is 60% meat. The ocean assortment has done much better and she has one of these every morning.
I bought an assorted box of natures menu on friday and she goes absolutely crazy for it. she is a tiny little cat with no health problems so I am sticking to the two pouches a day, but was wondering whether it is worth putting down any biscuit as she seems completely off anything that is dry.

If I should be putting this down, can anyone recommend a complimentry biscuit as they all now seem complete food.

Hi, there's no real need to feed any dry an all wet food is considered by most to be the best way to go.

If you do wish to feed a little dry as a treat or as a snack between meals then a complete food is absolutely fine, dry foods that match your original requirements are Orijen, Acana, Applaws / Encore and Taste of the Wild.
