Cat vomits every morning

Hi All

I'm new to this forum and I'm sure this question has been asked many times already.

We have a Bengal cross kitten call Milly, she around 6 months old and has over the last month starting vomiting. Her diet is the same, her feeding regime is unchanged, but every morning around 5.30am she vomits a browny mush.

She is fed good quality food called Hi-life kitten, and Purina dry biscuits are left out with water. Occasionally she is treated to chicken, meat or salmon, depending on what we might be cooking. We have tried feeding her smaller portions more frequently, larger portions less often and no change.

She is otherwise healthy, active, wormed, flea free and fun loving but this regular vomiting is a concern. I have read that she might need a change of food, but I have not found anything with more meat content than hi-life. The vet said if she is healthy then she may just be going through a phase. The issue is that the cat sleeps on my youngest sons bed at his feet, and having to wash duvets everyday is an issue.

The only thing that has broken her routine was when she sprained her foot and had a 4 day course of antibiotics, the problems seems to have started around that time.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Re: Cat vomits every morning

hi dear a big warm welcome
I really don't know why she is vomiting brown mush at a set time but There can many varied reasons why a cat vomits, from a serious illness to eating something disagreeable, also hairballs,Parasite problems,Poisons, Accidental over dosage of medications heat stroke etc
An occasional, isolated episode of vomiting is usually normal.
chronic vomiting could be a signal a to a serious underlying disorder so I would have said go to the vets and have them run tests in relation to the vomiting to determine the cause.? and even though your cats healthy still have they run any tests? also you could try asking another vet for advice?
Have you thought of changing sleeping places ? I know it might sound strange but room tempreture etc can effect some cats - cause them to be sick
As regards food spid mentioned in a post I was reading
Hi-life, Natures Menu, Yummy Scrummy, Bozita, Smilla etc. are good and carly87 · . If you're interested in internet ordering, then Animonda, Bozita, Grau and Smilla are all good foods available from Zooplus.

Re: Cat vomits every morning

I foster rescued kittens and they were vomiting and had diarrhoea. I was also feeding them Hi Life wet food. After weeks of misdiagnosis and unsuccessful treatments, I reached the conclusion that the cause is the Hi Life food. I had to change them to whiskas steamed mixed jelly when Hi Life was out of stock and vomiting and diarrhoea stopped right away. I didn't think much of it so as soon as Hi Life was back in stock I gave it to them again as I thought it was better quality than whiskas. right after first pouch of Hi Life the vomiting and diarrhoea returned! I moved them back to whiskas steamed and all symptoms are gone again. If I were you I would stop Hi Life for a couple of days and see if vomiting goes.
I'm not trying to imply Hi Life is bad but perhaps some of the natural ingredients don't agree with all cats?
I hope kitty gets well.
