miley is still at the vets really poorly

i dont know what to do, my heart has broken,

miley started losing the use of her back legs 2 weeks ago, she has practically lived in the vets over the past two weeks, we are shoving anti-biotics down her throat, shes not getting any better, she had an x-ray yesterday which shows nothing, she has had blood tests which show nothing, she threw up 4 times today and is staying at the vets all day under observation, no-one knows whats wrong with my baby. i cant take it anymore, her little face is permantly sad, what do i do? anyone else know of any other kitten which has done this? shes only 6 months old. bless her x x x

thanks for listening :-)

Oh no, i'm really sorry. How upseting and frustrating for you
Can you not ask your vets to contact the big vets school, I know there's 1 in Glasgow, but sure there's one in the South too

Re: miley is still at the vets really poorly

I don't know what to suggest I'm afraid. I know that when one of my cats had a fall, it put him out of action for a few weeks and he still suffers now if he is out in the cold.

I will keep my fingers crossed that she makes a quick recovery

Lou

Oh no! Has you vet contacted the vet hospital for extra support/advice? You must be frantic, everything crossed for some good news soon.

Re: miley is still at the vets really poorly

thank you for your replies x

im not sure if they have contacted anyone else, i can pick her up tonight so i will ask then,

i cant really go to another vet as i have to work full time, and our vets is 5 seconds down the road from work, the next nearest one is well over 1/2 hr away and i wont be able to just drop her off before work etc... i have had so much time off these past 2 weeks, my boss has been a star.

im just hopeless at the moment, i'll spend the weekend with her and see what the vet advices if nothing changes, as from today she is having to take a 3rd pill for medication, i just dont know if she can take all this messing about...

Re: miley is still at the vets really poorly

I know you were worried about the spay op, did they manage that successfully, or did this happen first?

I know if my vet gets stuck he rings Bristol vet hospital for a conference with the research vets there for extra ideas, if your vet has no new ideas perhaps he could try a chat like that to see if they can help out?
