Re: Animonda carny labelling change??
Not sure about the new labelling but my Furbies are hating AC and are both not touching it. I think I will have to give away the bulk order I made to CP and see if their cats like it, as I have now tried all flavours and they just sniff it and try it and then abandon it. I got my husband to smell it in case it was off (I can't smell too well) but he said it was fine.
Should have trial ordered rather than bulk ordered - that will teach me! ![]() PS. If anyone in London wants some, pls let me know as I can't use it and I don't want it to go to waste. |

Re: Animonda carny labelling change??
I had a new order of AC arrive yesterday but still have a large number of 'older' tins in the cupboard so I will have a look at tonight and see if the change has been recent.

Re: Animonda carny labelling change??
I would imagine that the product remains the same but the labels have been changed to bring them in line with the new labelling regulations just like Grau's were. It may be worth a email to them to confirm though.

Re: Animonda carny labelling change??
The only flavour that has changed in my mixed pack order is Turkey & Rabbit.
Old tin = 85% Beef, 10% Turkey & 5% Rabbit. New tin = 45% Beef, 17% Turkey, 6% Rabbit & 31% Broth!!!! ![]() Old tin was called "Fleisch Menue Plus" - this is not on the new tin. Old tin had "With Ani-Protect" - new tin just says "With Taurin" New tin also has 7 different languages on it, old tin had 6. Company name appears to have changed from Animonda GmbH to animonda petfood GmbH (no cap letters is exactly as on label) and location has changed from D-49001 Osnabruck to 49084 Osnabruck. So there is a lot going on there. ![]() Haven't yet fed any up to the babies to see if the taste has changed or the consistency.

I thought it was just re-labelled due to the new legal guidelines but the feeding recommendation has also changed which has confused me. Where is Hobbs when you need her ![]() ![]() I feed animonda because I know whats in it. My one cat is quite intolerant to chicken and can't eat too much of it so I am stressing about what's in the broth. |

Re: Animonda carny labelling change??
There will always have been some kind of broth/water in that tin; they just chose not to declare it previously. Nevertheless, they may also have taken the opportunity of the changing labelling regulations to change the recipe slightly but considering that the analyses are the same, any change will have been minimal. The declared nutritional additives have changed slightly from Vitamin D3 (200 IU / kg), vitamin E (60 mg / kg) to Vitamin D3 (200 IE/kg), iodine (0,2 mg/kg), Manganese (1,5 mg/kg), Zinc (10 mg/kg).
Re the changed feeding rec. They might have re-done their analysis and realised that one needs to feed less or they may even have done another feeding trial. Anyhow, if you are at all worried or interested, just send them an email. Animonda are typically very good at responding. As far as I am aware they have always been animonda petfood GmbH. PS: zooplus.de gives slightly more info in terms of ingredients. According to their listing, the beef part of the beef and heart tin contains beef (53%, meat, lung, liver, kidney, udder). PSS: If you want to check whether they have changed the production facility than just compare the "charge" or lot number between old and new tins. Last edited by hobbs2004; 26-10-2011 at 07:21 AM.. |
