Hi everyone,
I'm brand new to this site so apologies if I use the wrong netiquette here or there and bare in mind I don't know all the little acronyms used on here lol! Here's my question.. I have a very large 10 yr old male moggy (Polo) who was bored silly while I was at work.. so 2 weeks ago I adopted a 4 month old female (named her Cleo). When she arrived, she was used to a very expensive food (and only on dry food) so over the first week, I gradually introduced a new food. She eats everything I give her (dry biscuits and plain chicken breast) and drinks plenty of water. It's possible that she's eaten some of big boy's tuna. But compared to when I first got her, her stools are quite soft on the new food (not runny, but soft) and this morning I woke up to find one of them has been sick. It was watery and was all digested food. I can't guarantee that it was her vomit, but I've been generally wondering what to do about her stools anyway.. so should I keep them both off their food today? Normally they free feed on dry food and get given 1 or 2 meals of wet food every other day. On non meat days, they get a little cat milk morning and evening along with their dry food. She's not had any irritability with the cat milk. So yea should I keep them off food? Then introduce something simple? She was only eating chicken breast anyway but at the shelter she didn't have any meat, only dry food. I'm willing to go back to the expensive food if I need to (just hope that's not forever!!) lol. Many many thanks in advance cat lovers, Nissa x |
