Unhappy Vomiting cat

Hi, I'm new on this site and wonder if anyone here has had this dreadful problem. My cat is now 5 years old and since she was 6 months she has been vomiting. She has had so many tests and tried different medications and nothing has worked.

Last year just before Christmas she had an endoscopy and they basically said it was IBS. Just vomiting wouldnt worry me that much but she has stomach ache and then lashes out at her mother, and anyone else passing. She is not a happy little cat (I wouldnt be with constant stomach ache) and she never plays. Her mother is very playful and I feel sorry for her that she cant play with her daughter. But I love the little cat and I just dont know what to do for the best. She is on Hypoallergenic food, wet food, including chicken breast makes her worse.

Any ideas.

Sorry to hear about your cat. Considering the length of the chronic vomiting ( which is always a concern and needs to be controlled ) I'm not surprised your cat isn't happy! What food are you currently feeding her and what has been tried in the past? Which tests? If it is a case of IBD ( endoscopy should have revealed which type-there are a few ) then the only way to treat this is by idenifying and eliminating the trigger (food). If the chicken is making her symptoms worse then you need to stop this.

Also I think you need to change vets!

Re: Vomiting cat

You could also try a course of Fortiflora, a probiotic which I've found to be incredibly helpful whenever a cat has an upset tum. I know some who swear by it to control IBS. Zooplus also do a very good all fish food called Smilla that it might be worth changing them onto if chicken makes her worse. It's a wet food, but perhaps without the chicken it wouldn't cause such an issue, especially when combined with the Fortiflora. Does she get the runs too?
