Unhappy HELP-My cat is limping!

Dear all,

I need your help! A few days ago I noticed that my cat started to limp (he is 6 months old). I didn't pay much attention, because I thought he stepped on something or that something bit him. However, today it got worse. He won't stop meowing and when I try to cuddle him, he keeps whining like I'm hurting him. He is jumping around with his right front paw in the air. I looked at it, but there is nothing over there and when I touch it, it doesn't seem to bother him. However, when I touch his shoulder (a part of leg near his neck) he starts meowing again. It seems like it really hurts him. He eats normally, he moves a bit slower than usually, but he doesn't want to cuddle, although he really loves it.
Anyway, my question is: is this something dangerous? Will it stop hurting on its own, or should I take my cat to the vet? Does it happen often? Is anybody familiar with this? I don't have much experience, so, please, help, because I'm very worried.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.

Re: HELP-My cat is limping!

He definitely needs to go to the vets, he could have broken something. The sooner the better

Re: HELP-My cat is limping!

It could be allsorts from a simple sprain to fracture or dislocation, cats are very good at hiding pain so the only way to tell is to get him to the vets where they can have a good look and possible xray, even if its just a sprain its sounds like he could really do with some painrelief

Re: HELP-My cat is limping!

^^^ as above.Kitten needs to be seen by a vet to determine the cause of his pain/discomfort .Now would be good.

Sorry to hear that your lad is in pain. Sounds like a dislocated or sprained shoulder to me. Try to get him to the vet ASAP but in the meantime I would try to get some Arnica which would make him at least feel a bit more comforatable.
