Strange scabs on kittens head
Hi,
I have started noticing when I'm stroking my kitten that she has what feels like small spots or scabs around her ears and on her head, and I'm not sure what these could be? She was at the vet last week for something else and the vet checked her for fleas which she didn't have and thought it could just be an irritation from when they did a blood test and had to shave some of her fur. However that was now 2 weeks ago and she still has them, any clues?? |

Re: Strange scabs on kittens head
Has the diarrhea cleared up at this stage? Still on Metronidazole?
Yes, I would have though fleas at first and secondly, considering the location a food allergy . Have you noticed any scratching? Not aware of this being a side-effect of the above antibiotic but I suppose it's possible. |

Re: Strange scabs on kittens head
Hi,
Shes finished the Metronidazole, and is now half way through the Ronidazole treatment for the TF. The diarrheoa is definitely better, shes going less and although it hasn't cleared up completely her stools are more soft than diarrheoa. She still has 5 days to go on this treatment then we'll get her tested again and see if its cleared up - fingers crossed! Yes shes definitely scratching a lot around her head and her ears. I'll ask the vet if its a known side effect of the treatment. Shes only eating the RC Sensitivity Control at the moment and was fine on it at first (in terms of no scabs). I'll keep checking her for fleas but certainly last week she didn't have them.. |
