Enlarged Nipple in 14yr old cat
We took our cat to the vet a last month as we noticed she had an enlarged nipple. It's always been slightly bigger than the others ever since she was a kitten, but it's recently gotten huge! The vet said it was just full of fluid and gave her a shot of antibiotics, but it's now bigger and redder than before!
Should I be worried and take her back? What else could it be? |

Re: Enlarged Nipple in 14yr old cat
i would take her back - it could be another infection or a possible mamory tumour

Re: Enlarged Nipple in 14yr old cat
No it doesn't seem to hurt her. The fur around it became really matted too so I'm not sure if it was weeping...
She's eating fine but in the past couple of days has started to loose control of when she goes to the toilet. I don't think this has anything to do with the nipple, but I think old age is catching up with her ![]() |

Re: Enlarged Nipple in 14yr old cat
Just to let you all know, Amber is booked in for the vets tomorrow at 3pm. She seemed OK yesterday morning then got worse last night. When she leaned back to clean herself "down there", she started weeing
It's like there was something pushing her bladder and she had no control...She's eating and drinking fine but I will just see what the vet says. I'm worried they'll just look at her, just inject her with antibiotics again and send me away with a big bill and no proper answer ![]() |

Re: Enlarged Nipple in 14yr old cat
Good luck with the vet visit! You can always get a second opinion ( or see a different vet at the practice ) I did this once for years! I actively avoided one vet in particular, who despite being the owner was actually the least competent!
If it helps one of mine had a benign mammary tumour which was successfully removed. Your cat may well have an infection though. |
