Keeping teeth clean - help.

Hi

What is the best way to keep my cat's teeth clean please? Is there any products you can recommend?

Thanks

Yep a weekly raw chicken wing is definitely the best way to go - *goes to defrost this weeks lot* (thanks for the reminder)

Re: Keeping teeth clean - help.

Storm has for the first time really taken to the chicken wing today, he is happily currently crunching away at the bones and eating the meat and growling if Benji or even myself gets too close!

Benji couldn't be bothered, I would brush his teeth but because of his stomatitis I can't, it would hurt him too much

Re: Keeping teeth clean - help.

My cats do not long raw chicken wings.

What toothpastes are good? Has anyone tried any? Thanks

Re: Keeping teeth clean - help.

(I'm not anti-raw but my cat doesn't eat raw )

my cat has beautiful teeth and she always has done, she doesn't eat bones or anything just normal good quality high meat content cat food and dry biscuits to snack on. . .so I have no idea why her teeth are so lovely

she's 17 and she has all of her teeth and they're all beautifully white! I'm jealous of how lovely and white they are hahaha

Re: Keeping teeth clean - help.

I bought a toothpast and brush from zooplus. Merlin plays with it and bites it when I try to brush.

Re: Keeping teeth clean - help.

Raw chicken wing, small mouse, day old chick, or even chunks of meat such as beef heart.

Re: Keeping teeth clean - help.

Dried/dehydrated chicken (or other meat) pieces are also a good alternative.

Some of the ones we have tried which go down well:

Rocco Chings Dried Chicken Breast - Great deals on dog snacks at zooplus
Rocco Chings Duck Breast - Great deals at zooplus
Rocco Chings Chew Strips Beef at zooplus

Each piece can be cut into 4 or 5 pieces, so they go a long way
