Hobbs? Raw feeders? advice please

Hi.

We have 2 young cats a burmese and a bengal cross. After much discussin on here decided to change them onto raw from their applaws and royal canin kitten. We changed them gradually. BUT they constantly have a runny tum nd bad wind. We tried them back on their original diet yesterday and today they are happy and stools firm.

We were feeding god quality raw from darlings and rawtogo and storing in freezer and defrosting in fridge.... i jut dont think it agrees with them.

And ohter advice before i give in a revert back to their first diet?

x

Hi there, you have changed their diet gradually but then some people switch to raw 'cold turkey', i.e., abruptly, and don't encounter the runny bums and wind.

More likely that they don't agree with the particular brands of raw food they have tried so far, or you are perhaps not feeding enough bone? I would try other meats and see what agrees with them more. Have you tried chicken necks and chicken wings? Rabbit from Woldsway is very good and a favourite with my cats. How about some raw egg? I'm sure others will have more suggestions.

Certainly going back to kibble is not the answer...! Getting the raw diet right can take some time but it is so worthwhile, please don't give up yet. x

Could it be the type of protein? Are they fed on chicken, beef, lamb, etc?
