After coming on this forum I have learnt so much about cat nutrition. I thank you all for the brilliant advice on this.
Before this I've always fed what I know now to be a rubbish diet. Whiskas dry ... Eek!

My parents have 2 cats. Both males. One about 11 and one about 13.
They are fed a dry diet of Hills Science or sometimes Whiskas dry.
One of them has recently got slightly overweight which they are addressing now by feeding him separate.

They just take the advice of the vet but most bets in out area suggest dry and still bang on about it being good for teeth! Rubbish!

Do you think they are to old to change on to a wet diet? I was going to tactfully suggest they change.

Not at all! Mine were older when I changed their diet. If unsuccessful at first keep trying-often it's just a matter of discovering the right brand!

Definitely not - just changed a 17 year old over to raw! SHe loves it and is looking marvellous!

I've just changed my two 12 year old cats from a poor quality wet diet to a good quality one. As long as they are given food that they like, and big changes are made gradually, there shouldn't be any problems.

Merson & Oscar had been fed wet a very long time ago. I changed them from RC dry (but soaked in hot water) just a few months back. They are 10 & 13 yo. Both are doing VERY well on it and Oscar has even lost a few pounds around his middle.
