So I'm just buying another load of Bozita but I noticed on the Zooplus website the meat content *appears* to state 4% actual meat - surely this is not correct, I'm sure I read somewhere here that Bozita is a high meat content?

I bought the Minced Beef, Perch, Chicken Liver and Rich in Children varieties...

pmsl that has got to be of the best typos ever.. thanks, you have made my day x

That answer's actually more useful to me than you probably think it is! I didn't know there was any way to thinken gravy other than using grains. I'd even searched for gluten free gravy recipes, and all I'd come up with was thickeners other than wheat flours.

I've looked at the analysis figures on Zooplus, and the chunks in gravy are 83% moisture and 275KJ per 100g. The pate is 355KJ per 100g, but the moisture content isn't shown. Is that an oversight on someone's part, or are Bozita not required to declare it?

Bearing in mind the difference in energy values, is it reasonable to assume the difference is created by the chunks in gravy having a higher moisture content? (I know extra fibre can also increase weight without increasing energy content, but they're declared at 0.5% fibre, which wouldn't be enough to create a difference of 80KJ per 100g, I don't think.)

As I said earlier, I'm not concerned about having to feed more of it to satisfy my cats' energy needs. I just want to be fairly confident that there's nothing in it I wouldn't want my cats to eat.

Re: Question about Bozita wet food

By the way, if anyone is near Epsom, and would like 5 cartons of Bozita (chunks in jelly) drop me a PM.

I bought the Langoustine flavour when I first started using Zooplus, and Dizzy swore it was the best food he'd ever tasted. However, when I ordered other flavours, all three cats gave me that "OK, joke's over, human... now where's the actual food?" look. And now Dizzy won't touch the Langoustine.
