I would ask your vet to test his poop for infections such as Giardia, its a parasite that lives in the intestine and can make them sick and give them runs. Avoid dried food if you can, wet food is the best diet for him, four small feeds a day, we use Animonda and Royal canin kitten foods but if you can get him on a good adult wet food that is just as good. What colour are his poops if they are not dark?

You can also add tree bark powder to his wet food which helps the gut no end and makes most food digestible. Digestive Problems - Dorwest

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Izzie

Re: Tummy troubles

Thanks Izzie

He's been to the vets 4 times already and has been seen by 4 different vets and none of them could find anything wrong with him. I don't want to keep stressing him out by taking him there unless it's absolutely necessary. I took a sample in before and although they didn't test it, the vet looked at it and said it just looked runny (this was at the beginning when he had the runs) and she was sure it was just down to diet change.

His poop is a mid brown colour now, although it was dark when he was just on the chicken and fish.

And now Tobias my other little boy has got the runs He's the one that's been fine all the way through! But I did catch him stealing some food that wasn't his yesterday so I guess that's the culprit. I only took my eyes off him for a second the little darling! They're worse than kids

I'd insist his poop was tested I think.

My boy had very runny poops but was ok on cooked food and that turned out to be parasites. Since a few days after he was treated he hasn't had a single bad poop.

Re: Tummy troubles

Thanks, i'll keep an eye if things don't turn normal I'll whip him back to the vets

The last couple of days his poop has been getting darker and I'd say it's now 90% normal. Hopefully it was just the transition to the other food, which he's now been on fully for about 4 days.

Hopefully another day or two and he'll be 100%

Had a look, crikey I thought I had it bad, fortunately my little fella has never been anywhere near that bad. Nothing yellow, it's always been brown, and while quite stinky, nothing like filling the whole house with the smell! He's always had wet food in the main, with just a few biscuits as a treat. All proper meals have always been wet. Not a dry fan as I've been down the whole UTI road before.

Almost back to normal now (I don't want to speak too soon ) so will continue to monitor and take more action if necessary

Thanks
