sick cat :(

My little Holly is poorly.

She has been sick on and off for a couple of days, as it looked like furballs, I didnt think much of it.

But this morning there was a lovely glutenous mess in the cat box and this afternoon she threw up liquid that was a little pinky.

So I took her to the vets, and they gave the poor thing anti sick and antibiotic injection plus white chalky stuff incase she has a ulcer and/or an infection. Her temp was up a little, but not feverish. She also had a furball remedy, just incase it is that too!

She seems a little better now, so hoping she is on the mend.

I have recently moved from James Wellbeloved to Porta21 sensible. They are on porta and cosma wet. Could it be the change in dry food? She does have a delicate constitution, so it seems anything upsets her I thought that cutting out grains completely would help!!

Any thoughts/experiences?

Re: sick cat :(

I can't help much in terms of her being sick, but are you aware that both foods you are feeding are only complementary? Porta 21 recently changed to state they were no longer complete foods and there are only two flavours of the Cosma that are classed as complete (I think the fishy ones).

Hoping she continues to get better though

ETA: Whoops, just realised I think you meant the Porta dry food, sorry!

Re: sick cat :(

I also tried to change to a grain free diet, it caused Maisie to bring up everything she tried to eat, the initial vomit was dry food. The vet thought she may have made her throat sore or had stomach acid because of it therefore making her bring up everything from then onwards.

She is a sensitive little one with food, and most of her problems start with changing her dry food. She has only JW, a little bit as a treat as she likes variety, have given up trying other ones now as they have always caused a problem, apart from the Applaws dry but I threw ours out when the scare was publicised and haven't bought it since.
