Re: Hobbs - Raw Question :)

It's not a great deal clearer.

I need specifics such as buy x amount of x from x and do x with it!!

Part raw could be the way to go here, one of the gang won't touch it anyway.

Re: Hobbs - Raw Question :)

This is what i do:

Buy:

575g of meat for example turkey thighs
150g heart, lambs hearts you can get from Morrisons in a pack of 3
50g liver, i think chicken is best as it's a milder flavor
50g kidney, lambs are about the right size
150g chicken wings. Mine don't eat them so i bought a grinder on Amazon Kenwood MG510 Meat Grinder: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home and i grind them with the smallest plate making them undetectable in the mix. If your cat's eat them then you can just feed it whole.
3.5g taurine, buy pure taurine off of eBay eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace
2tsp salmon oil. I got mine from Zooplus
1.1g seaweed powder, again from Zooplus
1.5g brewers yeast, mine was from Holland & Barrett
2 Drops of Vitamin E, Biocare, Vitasorb E, Vitamins at Discount Supplements

Also buy some tubs to put them in. I got eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace so 1 tub lasts 2 days. The mix above fills 3 tubs.

You'll also need a pair of kitchen scales, and some scales which go 0.1 like American Weigh Signature Series Black AWS-1KG Digital Pocket Scale, 1000 by 0.1 G: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

I do the mix 2 ways, 1 is to make a mince, and the other is to make it into chunks about 2cm so it's small enough to put in their mouth but they need to chew it, this also means that you don't get food dragged all over the floor.

To make the mince, i add all the main ingredients through the large plate on the mincer, adding meat, liver, heart, bone mix (already pre minced, and frozen earlier using the small plate) kidney, and rotating it in that pattern so the bits get mixed up well.
Once that's done i add mix all the supplements to a whiskey glass 1/2 full of water and pour over the top of the mince. Mix in and put in tubs to freeze, i also put a little sticker with a 'T' on it to let me know that it contains turkey.

Now all you need to do is make more batches with different meat. On Tuesday i did, pork, beef brisket, turkey thigh, turkey joint, chicken thigh, lamb, duck legs, plus all the meat which was left over i did all together to make a mix mince.

Re: Hobbs - Raw Question :)

Sounds great

by feeding so many different meats you decrease the chance they're missing out on something i guess.
