Bozita Feeding Guidelines....

Hi all,

Im hoping someone can advise me, shortly I am going to introduce Bozita to my kitten, and have a question of what the recommended feeding guidelines would be for a kitten, I have looked on there website and their guide is for full grown cats.

Thanks

Re: Bozita Feeding Guidelines....

Kittens should be fed an unlimited supply of wet food as they are constantly growing. This should be fed in at least 4 (ideally 6-8) meals a day. There is no guideline for a kitten as they should be allowed to eat as much as they like.

Unforutnately, yes, they do cost a lot to feed when they are young. However, on a higher quality diet like Bozita they may not eat as much as it is much better quality than supermarket brands such as whiskas, felix etc so will probably take less to fill them up

Good advice from Kaz25. Kittens should have an unlimited supply of wet food (well, within reason - I would seriously worry if I had a kitten that put away 1kg of wet food).

However, IMO Bozita isn't a high quality food. The pate ones are (the pate tetrapaks more so than the tins that contain lung as the first ingredient) but the ones in jelly or gravy aren't really much better than other food of that type.

I wonder when the new Bozita range will be available in the UK - though that is not much of a step up.

I did mean the pates as read the jelly and gravy aren't very good. There are so many high quality foods out there to meet every budget I can't understand why people continue to feed their animals such low quality food I know sometimes it isn't easy to get them to eat a different food if they are used to a certain kind but some people just aren't even willing to try.

SouthWestCat: Have you looked into any other foods? Lots of people on here would recommend Grau, Applaws, Animonda Carny and Smilla. I have just started using Smilla and must say my kittens love it.

I was going to give Animonda Carny a go at some point, I thought Bozita wasnt to bad is it still better quality then whiskas etc?

The pate yes (and Hobbs mentioned the tetrapacks being better than tins, so you are tied to turkey (purple pack) or reindeer (orange pack)

The chunks in jelly have a good meat content to the meat (sounds daft lol) but do contain quite a bit of jelly/gravy so I assume Hobbs is saying in comparison to whiskas etc you still have the low overall meat content.

I dont think Bozita add sugar so in that respect it will be better, Im honestly not well versed in whiskas so I'm not sure, but any grains etc will also not be in Bozita.

I think its just that there are better foods, and really the pate one is the best, as with most pate foods as they have more meat and less fillers in the gravy etc. Obviously some cats really like those textures so can be a little harder to suit!
