Re: Bozita Feeding Guidelines....

Interestingly, on the new range of Bozita, it is made clear that the meat percentage refers to the meat proportion in the chunks.

In the jelly tetrapaks, the meat content of up to 93% refers to the proportion of meat in the meaty chunks, not the whole pack. Bozita were unwilling to say how much jelly there is in the tetrapaks but conceded that it is less than 50%.

According to a Whiskas person that errantly came on to the forum a while ago (Kitten Care - with Albie & Mabel), the chunks in jelly contain 48% Chunk (Chunk contains approx. 92% Meat) and 52% Jelly. So, not much of a difference really; though Bozita could contain less jelly and more meaty chunks and Bozita doesn't contain any sugars or grains (though not all Whiskas, Felix ranges contain those either).

Toplife are quite transparent in saying that their paks contain 50% jelly and 50% meaty chunks, with the meaty chunks containing 90+% meat (well, that was the info I got from them over a year ago now so not sure how up-to-date that still is).

I would imagine that means its not MUCH less than 50%, because surely theyd be more willing to disclose if it was, say, 30%?

Re: Bozita Feeding Guidelines....

Well I'm glad I've got my two on Smilla and Animonda Carny too then because I also thought I was giving them a better diet by providing Bozita instead of Whiskas/Felix.

I've got lost in this interesting discussion here. I thought Bozita a good food as they don't add sugars or grains. But I can see there are better ones. Which brands would you recommend as the best ones? In the next order I could try and order them too.

Bozita pate is definitely a good one to have in rotation

Animonda and Grau are also 2 more good ones, Smilla is also something good to have in rotation, very cheap, although personally not something I feed.

if you are brave enough to order from Germany, there are brands available such as MACS, Pfotenliebe, CatzFineFoods, PetNatur, GranataPet and (I think...) Tigercat, which are also very good and are a big closer to the 'perfect' food, though nothing is 'perfect' hence why rotation is recommended

Hi, many thanks for the list of brands. I'll definitely have a look at German brands and choose something from them.

Well I will feed the Bozita that I got, and then maybe try something else, I would also like to get something that is available from a few distributors.

Re: Bozita Feeding Guidelines....

i have a cat with a very delicate constitution!

So I feed them Porta 21, cosma and the odd tin of Grau as it is the only stuff that doesnt come out the other end too quickly!

I tried bozita, but it did not agree with her at all!

Not sure why, but I wont get it again!

Its all trial and error
