Crate rest - size of crate

My cat severed her achilles tendon in a mystery accident a week ago. After two lots of surgery, the vets repaired the tendon on Friday and she's been confined to crate rest for two weeks. I've made up a pen for her, 3ft square, in the living room and it has her litter tray, food and water in it.

The question I have is, do you think it's too big? I think the point of the crate rest is to stop her jumping and breaking the tendon again which the pen does. However, I've been surfing around the net and some people have their cats in pretty small travel crates for crate rest. I don't really want to do this as it'll make her even more depressed than she already is!

She's taken to sleeping in her litter tray and I'm a bit worried her wound will get infected again. She's on antibiotics though so I assume it'll be ok and there's not a lot I can do about it.

I guess I'm just looking for reassurance as it's been a horrible week!
Thanks!
