My kitten had his first injections yesterday and I was given information about giving him Advocate, as a totally new owner I said yes.

Do you think the vets would give me prescriptions for this for me to purchase online as it is so much cheaper?

Yes they will - and they'll charge you anything up to their normal consultation fee for the prescription so it doesn't work out cheaper.

My vet appears to charge about £14 for a prescription but I am not sure if this is limited ni quantity and/or scaled depending on the specific treatment.

It's all rigged, basically. On the other hand, a vet needs to pay the bills, employ staff and make a profit, so as long as they are not gouging me or proposing too much unnecessary diagnostics (I push back quite hard with an "educated" set of questions) then I don't mind.
