Yes, this makes perfect sense to me since true colitis is caused by an allergy to an ingredient in the food or a protein type. Interesting though that a food that's designed to alleviate this actually caused it to persist. Must have look at the RC composition since not one I've given to my own cats. However did find that one of mine vomited on Hills i/d ( believe grains ) another intestinal prescription food!

That is because the likes of Hills and RC put rice in their sensitivity/allergy food because allegedly, according to them, rice isn't used frequently in cat food. I wonder when the last time was that they have looked at the ingredients in cat food, particularly dry food.

And yes, the RC sensitivity control contains grains.

Re: Blood in Kittens POO

Agree. I was also very suprised to see the grains in these types of foods since I'm a firm believer that these are a leading cause of inflammatory bowel conditions esp colitis in cats, much more so even than protein sources.

I know at one time rice allergy was considered rare but don't believe this to be true-it's still a grain!

Do foods like Bozita and Animonda Carny contain grains?

It shows how marketing does work! Until I got a kitten and started to read on here, I would of said with 100% confidence Whiskas was probably the top and best brand for cats!
