Choice of Food for Rotation.

Don't know what happened to my last post on this subject - must have been too long or something.

Picking up my furball on Thursday - have already bought some Friskies dry for him (this is go-cat by another name) as that's what he's been eating until now and I want to get him settled in before changing his diet.

The plan is to switch him to wet food and having read a number of threads here the suggestion is to rotate brands.

I've finally found a source for Bozita Tetra packs here in Norway (zoopets doesn't deliver here) - and so will definitely be getting some of that to try - however if I intend to rotate brands, then my 2nd/3rd choices are limited - if these were your only other options which would you choose:

Hills (Science Plan), Royal Canin & IAMS

I'll need to double check my local pet store to see if they have anything else in, when I pop in again on Friday, but these are the only complete foods I remember seeing - they also sell appslaw in tins - so will be using those as an occassional treat.

Dry food wise, mainly planning to use this as treats in his puzzle ball and similar and maybe some free grazing when I need to be away for extended periods (hours not days btw). With this in mind is the recommendation to rotate also necessary with the dry food. I've found a souce of Orijen, so that's a no-brainer (unless he's annoyingly fussy), but if I need to rotate my choices are the same brands above - which would you choose as part of the rotation.

Agree with you, my cats won't eat the same flavour from the same brand after 1 bag.

Re: Choice of Food for Rotation.

Hmm, tricky one as Zooplus doesnt deliver to you. My understanding is that to rotate foods they need to be roughly the same quality to avoid upsets tummies and none of the other wet foods you mentioned are all that great so I would be inclined to get as many flavours of Bozita that you can and hope that they don't get bored, if you're planning in giving Applaws occaisionly then at least theyll have some variety.
