oh you are soooo lucky having cats that eat anything. i have tried so many wet foods i have lost count and in the end i just had to give up. i do plan to try a better dry food once the jwb is used up. probably applaws as they sell it in p@h.
Definitely try changing the feeding times. My 2 get fed whenever I eat (if I'm in), so breakfast, lunch, tea and then they get a pouch before bed too at about 9/10pm. If I'm at work I give them a little more in the morning as I know they won't eat it all at once if they are not hungry so they will have some to eat later on when they do get hungry again.

They're kittens though so they get more food whenever their bowls are empty, it just seems to happen that they empty them ready to be filled again at these times.

If you change their meal times it should be quite easy once they understand they will get a meal at say 6/7am or whatever time you get up.

Lots of people on here don't feed their cats any dry food, I was leaving dry down for my kittens as a snack during the day when I'm at work but they never seemed to touch it so I've stopped now. The only time they did touch it was the day I got them and they emptied the bowl within a couple of hours - they were starving though as they ate 3 or 4 pouches between them in that time too. Don't think they were fed very much at their old home

it will be hard to get them out of their habit and mean more lack of sleep i'm sure but hopefully will work out in the end.

Re: which food will fill them up?

As long as you know they are getting enough food (appreciate it will be difficult if you are worried about one of them being/becoming overweight) then I agree that they probably just ask for food because they know they will get it and possibly also because they are quite active during the night and quite fancy a little bit of attention. If that's the case you need to stop feeding them and stop the attention when they wake you up and eventually they should stop waking you up. Hopefully

Re: which food will fill them up?

Pleased to say we had a good night last night.

what I did was put the dry food in a dispenser thing i had gotten free from zooplus and the cats helped themselves at about 4am. I am sure they probably ate abit more than normal but I am hoping once the novelty has worn off they wont stuff themselves silly.

Also from today I am going to feed them a small breakfast before I go to work of another half pouch of wet. again hoping that the little extra wet food means they wont go silly on the dry left out for them.

it is so surprising how more sane I feel after getting good sleep !!

This is great! A timed feeder might be good so you can monitor how much they are getting, but like you said you didn't want one to eat it all and the other get none. Glad this seems to have worked though.
