now constipated cat

Leela now an outdoor cat had diarrhea and the vet gave me a special worming tablet, flea/worm solution and antibiotics with penicillin in.

This was Wednesday and she has not had a poo (i dont think, she is 1 of three cats)

She has dry and wet food on hand , plus water.

Is this normal?

Re: now constipated cat

Hey hun, I wouldn't worry just yet. Often cats who have had diarrhoea will not poo for a couple of days once the problem has been sorted. Do worry though (and seek immediate vet advice) if you see your cat wanting to go to the loo but not managing to or crying out in pain. Besides, she could have poop for all you know.....

Hope it has all been sorted for your girl

Re: now constipated cat

I made her bland boiled fish and she didn't want it, my other cat did! She has been eating dry food. i put some water mixed in to soften it.

She seems happy chasing catnip toys, playing with her sister and getting the attention she likes getting.
She has her last antibiotic this evening..

Re: now constipated cat

if her stomach has settled you could try a bit of mackeral in tom sauce. just wash some of the tom sauce off and mash it up it works for some. dont give though if your cat has a dodgy tum though as would be to rich.

Re: now constipated cat

I guess, hun, the only way you will know whether she is pooping or not is to keep her in until you see or don't see her do it. Could you do that?
