Re: Pets at Home nutrition advice and free sample

I don't believe it can be impartial. This is why I'd like to see what happens if there's one of the better dried foods, not stocked by P@H I could claim to feed my cats. Do they sell Orijen? It's the only name I know of the 'better' ones.

Right, next time I am near one I will pop in for some fun. Does one need to book those consultations?

I would want to know what qualifications the person had
Even more fun to be had. I'm a 'qualified' pet nutrition advisor in one particular brand and I've discussed before exactly what value I attach to that piece of rubbish. I too wonder what qualifications you need to give this 'whole of market' advice.

Have fun with that. It was the vet in pets at home that told me mine had a bad tum because I was feeding him wet food should only feed dried and then recommended brands such as the Hills and IAMs. Oh and it's good for cats to eat cereals don't you know.

I ended up having a rant and I'd never go back there again in a million years.

Re: Pets at Home nutrition advice and free sample

i could have chosen any of the dry food off the shelf, what i meant by impartial was that I had a free choice from all they stocked, rather than having to take a sample of P@H's own food . you don't have to book appt, but you can - the advisor might not be in full time if you go in on the off-chance. we were given Applaws 80% chicken, cereal free dry food and Al loves it, if he's going to prefer dry food which he does, I'm happy for him to eat it the advertising for the consultation is 'free bag' of food. i definitely think it's a good idea but their training needs to be looked at it seems! cereals? no thanks!
