Re: £40 a month for 2 Kittens food?
Personally, I don't think £20 per kitten per month is realistic. That is 66p per cat per day. An adult cat you could feed - at a stretch - with that amount of money but kittens are a different ballgame altogether as they really need all of the nutrients they can possible get.
Even if you decided to feed, for example, Felix As good as it looks, which is currently on special promo at Pets at home, where you can buy 96 pouches for £24, meaning each pouch is 25p. A grown average sized cat should eat 3 pouches a day, which would bring this food in at 75p a day. Animonda Carny, if you buy the 400g tins in the multisave pack of god knows how many are 26p/100g. You need to feed an adult average sized cat about 300g of Animonda (according to the manufacturer), so again this would bring you to 78p a day. Smilla is by far the cheapest of the lot. If you buy a supersaver pack of 400g, then 100g is 20p. You need to feed an average sized adult cat about 300g, so that bring you in at 60p. If you buy the 800g tin of Macs, then that brings it to 29 euro per 100g. You need to feed an average sized cat about 200g a day (according to the manufacturer), so that brings it in at 58 euro day + delivery Then there is raw, which is cheaper for adult cats as kittens can eat as much as they want. |

Re: £40 a month for 2 Kittens food?
Thanks
I wont put a limit on the cost of food. They've only been here 10 days and im up to more than £40 allready. Was just trying to gage how much with online ordering as i've never brought pet food that way before. I have a Kennelgate 2 mins up the road they have offers on all the time. I shall ask them if they can order in for me and how much they will charge for the better quality stuff.i also have the old boy (dog Reg) so may look into changing his aswell but at 13 he may be resiliant... However he does steal the Kitten food when they wont touch it cos its been down a while ![]()

Ordering from Zooplus is a dawdle and that is where you will get all the above mentioned foods. They come in from Germany so Kennalgate may be prepared to get them for you but would most likely charge you a fortune to do so!! Zooplus give free delivery on orders over £19 so they are very cosy efficient. The website is also in English so no language problems to deal with. ![]() I e-mailed a workmate some info last week - here are the links I sent to her for you to have a look at: Bozita Canned Food 6 x 410 g: Great Deals on Bozita Cat Food at zooplus Animonda Carny Adult 6 x 400 g: Great Deals on Animonda Canned Cat Food at zooplus Animonda Carny Adult 6 x 200 g: Great Deals on Animonda Canned Cat Food at zooplus Animonda Cat Food deals at zooplus: Mixed Savings pack Animonda Carny Adult 12 x 400 g Assorted Taster Pack Smilla Fish Pot at zooplus Allow approx 4-5 working days for delivery. I only started using this site back in May. Now I would never go back to shop-bought purchases again. Well, unless Tesco start stocking these brands which is VERY unlikely. ![]()

Mouse is not available, largely because it would cost too much as none of the mouse parts could come from surplus to human consumption or the parts that are not used for human foods. Same with rats Small birds - well, you can get some pheasant but there are only a few companies that offer this flavour, which is also often cut with other meats Rabbit - again quite difficult to get a pure rabbit food that is commercial food, though a couple of suppliers exist. Critters, ie. insects - again, not one that is available commercially. Even chicken or duck wouldn't be the mainstay of a cat's natural diet, unless we are talking duckling or small chicks. Lamb is not a natural meat, neither is pork, vension, and what have you. So, I take it you must be feeding a whole-prey raw diet if you only want your cats to eat food that they would naturally eat. |
