I'll be getting my cats in a month or so, i'm just educating myself so far.
I'll be going with a mix of macs, ropocat 100% meat, purely 97% meat and nature's menu with orijen down as snacks. Chicken wings, half a puisson etc on special days maybe!

Re: £40 a month for 2 Kittens food?

What about foods though that are mainly chicken, or mainly lamb? You said you wouldn't want to feed as much beef as you would rather feed them something that they would eat in the wild. It is the latter part of your statement that has started this hun.

Just saw your other post. So, you don't actually mind feeding the likes of chicken, lamb, veal, beef, turkey etc. Re the Purely Scrummy Yummy, if I were you, I would contact Pets at home for more info regarding that food - perhaps you have more luck getting more info out of them than me.

Wow!!! So much beef in the Animonda!!!!!

Well, given how my three nearly take the pattern off the the plates when I feed them this brand, it's a damn good thing there are no cows in our immediate neighbourhood. I wouldn't fancy their chances if there were!!!!

Re: £40 a month for 2 Kittens food?

It just depends on what you feed, I was probably spending that just on Arnold before my ragdoll kittens came home. I had to buy smaller tins for him which work out more expensive because he doesnt have a huge appetite but with the kittens eating mostly the same as he does now I can use the bigger tins.

I will probably be spending about £100 a month on food for 3, maybe more but then it isn't a massive problem if it does cost more.

I get what fadeaway means about Animonda though, ive never fed it because its mainly beef and we have plenty of other more varied foods in our rotation that my babies like, but if you do want to stick to a certain budget and Animonda fits with that and you feed different foods in rotation then I don't think its really an issue.

Re: £40 a month for 2 Kittens food?

I'm probably just being picky because I'm not a huge fan of beef myself. It might be an idea to throw a can of animonda beef in the mix every now and again for a change.

Re: £40 a month for 2 Kittens food?

As others have said, I'm sure cats would happily hunt cows if they came in minature varieties. Ours have recently started having Animonda Carny (as well as some other new brands) and it's proving very popular.

Regarding costs, I spend in excess of £40 a month per cat (possibly closer to £50) but I don't keep a careful track of it. It's partly due to Milly's sensitive stomach, and partly due to how fussy Sam is. Without those things, I could probably spend less, but that doesn't necessarily mean I would. I like giving them the best foods I can, and also watching them enjoying their food and leaving clean plates.
