Exclamation Can some one help me with this raw feeding please!

There has been a few threads about raw feeding.

I'd like to know if it's ok to feed raw chicken as in the skinless and boneless chicken breast from the shops from the fridge, and can you use the same stuff that you can get frozen, defrost and feed raw?

Would I also be able to do this with frozen beef mince? defrost and feed?

My cats are due to be wormed the start of next month, would it therefore be wise of me not to start introdcing raw until after they have had their worming treatments?

Thanks

From what I have picked up it is perfectly fine to feed frozen and then defrosted meat - in fact it seems safer to have frozen it first!

I would worm as normal to be honest - mine aren't due for another few weeks but I will be starting raw next week so not much I can do about the timing!

You can feed all meats fresh or frozen and defrosted. For game (including wild rabbit) it is better frozen and then defrosted to ensure that any parasites are killed off. If you are feeding raw as well as other dry or wet complete foods there is no problem with just feeding the muscle meat i.e. breast etc. If you are considering just feeding raw then you need to ensure that you feed the right quantities of muscle, organ and bone 85% muscle, 10% bone, 5% offal / organ.

hiya, thanks for that. no mine all have their biscuits down too and some of mine won't touch wet or even cooked meat. so this is basically just as an extra each day for the 3 maybe 4 who will give it a go. so long as what i mentioned is alright then i'm happy for them to just have breast and mince beef. won't be getting any game meat. is it ok for them to have chicken legs and wings?

Yes chicken wings and legs are ok, it give their teeth a work out and is good for cleaning between them. They might find them a bit strange at first and just play with them but if you expose the meat they should soon get the hang of it.
