Anti inflamatory jab reaction??

My kitten had a jab at the vets yesterday cos he was limping badly (although the limp seemed to miraculously disappear at the vets....)!
He was hiding away behind the settee Friday eve instead of bouncing off the walls and off his food....
Since he had the jab yesterday he is still not eating, vomited a little bile and now has a bit of a runny tummy
Could this be due to the jab or possibly something else going on with him?
Vet couldn't find anything wrong with his leg but gave the jab just incase.......
Either way I think it's gonna be another trip to the vets if he doesn't improve over night he only nibble at some chicken I offered him!!!

Re: Anti inflamatory jab reaction??

It does sound like a slight reaction, however the stress of a trip to the vets can cause a bit of a gastric upset.
Best to stick to a very light diet tonight ie water and a small amount of complete biscuits or small amount of chicken/white fish no fat/gravy.
Ring vet tomorrow if no improvement or condition worsens.

Re: Anti inflamatory jab reaction??

You should call and tell the vet. Some anti-inflammatories cause nausea and sickness, and it's something the vet needs to know about. Hope he's okay today!!

Re: Anti inflamatory jab reaction??

Agree. It's possible to have a reaction to any medication but some anti-inflammatories especially can induce sickness. So yes please do inform the vets.

Hope he improves soon!

Re: Anti inflamatory jab reaction??

phoned the vets this morning who didn't seem overly concerned - said it could just be a reaction to the injection and he wasn't sick until the day after the jab....he still wont eat I even liquidised some food at 4am (was up with my toddler...) and he licked some off my fingers, but not a lot of interest.....
He is just pooing sloppy mucous now obviously cos he hasn't eaten and he's very lethargic. Just resting in his crate now away from dog & kiddies I am really hoping he picks up and it is nothing more than reaction to the drugs but he has an appointment tomorrow morning just to make sure! I hate seeing him so poorly - even if his 'bouncing off the walls was a little infuriating!!!
