Very worried about kittens mouth

Hi All,

I have posted a few times about Gus's mouth, but I am now really worried about it.

A week ago he had what appeared to be a cut on his front lip;

After a few days this disappeared, but yesterday when he was lap at a certain angle I noticed lower down on his upper mouth is what appears to be a sort of ulcer. Please excuse his chin in the pictures - he likes to bathe his entire face in his water bowl for some reason!

As you can see it looks quite sore now. The skin isn't broken and he isn't showing signs of it bothering him, but it is quite distressing to look at.

As it is the bank holiday I can't get him to the vets until Tuesday.

Any advice on what it is, and how I might help it would be really appreciated,

Thanks

One of my cats has an ulcer too, on his top lip. As far as i know theres not alot you can do apart from let it run its course. It does look sore but I think alot of the time its just cosmetic, although if youre worried you could take him down the vets and see what they say.

Does your cats ulcer look similar to mine then? Do you think this could be caused from a cut off a cat toy?

yeh they do sometimes, if i remember rightly mine was on anti biotics to see if it would clear but he never ate them and eventually it dissapeared by its self. it could be from a cat toy or it might be an infection from his food bowl if its made of plastic, or he could have cut it while rubbing up against something.

Poor little kitty.
I think a trip to the vet.
That way it will stop you worrying and the vet will be able to treat it.
Also the vet can check inside his mouth to see if his teeth are alright.
you never know it could be something to do with a tooth or teething.
For now i would try to keep it clean.
