Raw fish

Can I give Rufus a raw whole fish - head, eyes, bones and all? I bought some sprats today to give to the rats and wasn't sure whether Rufus could have one too.

I wouldn't give them to my cats (not they would eat them anyway) but I am not an expert like others on here.

Yes, you can! Because I am rubbish at remembering what fish contains potential parasites I freeze them all first or buy them frozen. Sprats should be fine to feed fresh and raw. Hope he enjoys it!

Re: Raw fish

Thanks. He sometimes gets raw mince and chicken wings etc. Wasn't sure he'd be okay with a whole fish - good to hear he will be. They only cost me 10p for three so might stock up while the fishmonger has them!

Re: Raw fish

My girls get a sprat each now and then They love them ... I'm not so keen on the noises they make eating them though
