doesn't like her wet meal - how long should I leave it?

Mitzi has tried a couple of wet foods and I am moving her onto completes instead of complimentary. As advised I have tried her on a few different brands to help rotate what she eats.

the meat she has today (P@H scrummy Yummy) she will not eat. It's been out since this morning and she hasn't touched it, I've given her no dry as I want her to try it. My question is what is an acceptable amount of time to leave it and how long until I accept defeat?

Should I add a bit of one of the foods she does eat? How long should I hold my nerve?

When you introduce a new food you need to do it gradually over a period of a few days then over a period of weeks gradually introduce a couple of other brands and then feed in rotation. If its the scrummy pate I. Always had to mix that with a little water and make a mushy gravy. Sorry for typos on phone

Yeah, I tried that and nothing.

See, she has had applaws tinned, Nature's menu, Rafine soupe and wolfed them all down without needing a gradual change it's just this one she doesn't seem to want.

I have lots of the others I just want to check when it's time to call it a day with this one, throw it out and give her one she will eat.

My two didn't like the SY either- maybe it's one to take of the list for your girl. I know it can smell quite bland. Just like us, there are some tastes, textures cats don't like. Perhaps try some other complete wet food, Hobbs I'm sure you may know has compiled an excellent list of wet foods on the thread a-z wet food.

If the SY is around £1, have you tried Lily's organic, this is a complete food and palatable. I use this as one of the ones for rotation and it's good quality.

Re: doesn't like her wet meal - how long should I leave it?

Thanks for the advice.

I think I may have to accept it's a no-go (I picked it up as it was 4 for £2 at the mo).

I am very fortunate as I know another cat owner and we are swapping foods and treats in the hope as least one of our cats will like them.

I have seen Hobbs' epic list and am working through it at the moment (although part of me wishes there was a if money was not a factor ranking system on them - but that would be too easy!).

I think it's bin time for not-so scrummy yummy.
walkingcarpets likes this.

Arnold won't touch it either. Apparently they changed the recipe and a few people on here have said that their cats wouldn't touch it either. I got it when it was on offer too so got 2 pots to try my ragdoll kittens with but they're loving their Grau at the moment and don't want to introduce too much too soon.

they are meant to have only changed the recipe for the pouches but mine shunned the fish flavour which they were previously eating so I do wonder.
