Quick Question on Tinned Food Best Before Dates

Just a quick question:

How long does tinned food last? Is it like human food (IE, years rather than months or weeks?).

I was looking at getting some Animonda Carny which comes in 6 x 400g, but I'd get one pack of each flavour ending up with 48 tins which will last for quite a while.

I just don't want them to go out of date too quick.

Thanks

Re: Quick Question on Tinned Food Best Before Dates

I got my delivery last week and I've just had a look and what I assume is the use by date is 5.7.2013.

They will get eaten long before then however

Does anyone know how long the tetrapacks last? Is it around the same sort of time frame?
