Yeast~ kill or cure?
Hi Everyone
We have a Maine coon and a well meaning friend who has given us 'Plaque Off' for dogs because she saw it on special offer. It contains yeast. I'm loathe to give him anything that isn't good for him. Does anyone know - for certain - if this product, with yeast, could kill or impair his health? As his willing, devoted slaves, we do our very best for him.The product will remain unused till I know for certain, or be given away to a dog owner I know. Fingers crossed, somone out there will know! Thanks in advance. ![]()

Re: Yeast~ kill or cure?
By yeast do you mean brewer's yeast? Nothing wrong with brewer's yeast; in fact, it is a natural source of loads of B vitamins, amongst other things and often used by raw feeders for this purpose. I believe that has been added to make it more attractive to pets as brewer's yeast, when sprinkled on food, can be an appetiser for quite a few cats.
But, just like you shouldn't use PlaqueOff with cats with HyperT, you shouldn't use brewer's yeast with cats who have kidney problems (contains a lot of phosphorus). |
