More dietry advice needed

Hi Everyone,

I have two 10 month old kittens who since I had them (about 3 months ago) have suffered from bad stomachs. After trying an assortment of foods, and tests at the vet still nothing has sorted them out. About 4 weeks ago the vet put them on Hills Z/D, after two weeks both were doing really well - pretty much normal poops.

Albert is still fine, however last week Gus started to have an upset stomach again. Now around this time they had both discovered how to get onto the kitchen worktop via a stool I had in there. I am wondering if Gus might have stolen some food from the worktops, which is what has caused his relapse.

Do you think this is what has happened? Or could something else have caused him to be ill again? The vet said I need to keep them on it for at least 6 weeks before we can determine if it is a dietry intolerance or not.

I know noone can tell me if he has eaten something or not, but I am just after some advice really. I have removed the stool from the kitchen, and we make sure no food is ever left unattended now so it can't happen again

Has his tummy since improved since the runny poop and worktop discovery ?because if it has then I would imagine that yes that may be it, they may now also have the confidence to jump up on the worktops without the stool now as they know what is up there now and that they have a safe platform on which to jump.

I glad your cats like the z/d as mine wouldn't eat it after a week when it was thought he may have allergies, it has the strangest consistency a bit like plasticine.
