Smile Another nutrition thread

Hi everyone!

We currently have one cat, Alexander. Alex is 1 year and 4 months and in the end of this year he is getting a little sister, Artemis!

I am always very concerned about his nutrition and he is currently having The Hills Science Plan Optimal Care.
Since I've read the A-Z dried food guide, I feel very guilty in giving this food to my precious Alex...
I really wanna getting him the best possible food, both dry and wet types, my problem is I am at the moment living in South Africa and I don't seem to find any distributors here for brands like Petnatur, Orijen, MACs or Grau... Plus I don't seem to find any online store that ships to here.

I would like to ask if someone knows where or how I could get these products in South Africa or even if you know any good brands I can get here.

It is really frustrating to go to the stores and everything I find is the same old bad stuff...

Thanks in advance for your time!

Re: Another nutrition thread

Hi everyone!

This weekend I went to Rivonia Village in Jo'burg and I got a bag of Orijen .

I also talked with girl working there and she told me if there is enough demand they will order other brands, including canned wet food like petnatur, Grau, MAC's and GranataPet. I gave her my details and these brand names as the ones I am interested in.
Now I please call all Gauteng residents and ask them to go to this shop and make your order as well.

They will start importing if they see there is enough demand and interest, so let's all go there!

Here is the shop details:

Dr Bob's pet deli
Shop 14: Rivonia Village

Re: Another nutrition thread

I think I am lucky in that department . Alex is actually ignoring the Science Plan's kibbles and eating the Orijen's ones, he is definitely a wise kitty hehe.
I just bought the food on Saturday but I am thinking later today I will be able to just put Orijen in his food bowl, he seems to really enjoy it.
We are getting a Ragdoll kitten later this year and I want her to get good food habits since the beginning too.

I am now hoping some more people will place orders in the store for the wet food brands, that would be the cherry on top of the cake.

I am so glad I found this forum, I have been learning a lot with everyone's posts here, you are really amazing!

Re: Another nutrition thread

It wasn't easy to choose, all his photos are too cute.

-> Hello! My name is Alexander, but my humans call me Alex and I like it, so I always run to them when they call me! I am 1 year and 5 months, I like rubs, tummy pats and to give head bumps! I am very talkative with my pappy and mommy and I love they always reply to me and we have good conversations! I don't like strangers or when we have guests, I think they are too noisy...
My recent hobby is playing and chewing on my personal catnip plant and I have been hearing talks about another kitten.... I think I am getting a little sister soon! I am very excited and will post photos of her when she arrives on Earth!
