Harry says 'meh' to Applaws

Anyone else had the slightly disheartening experience of buying a good quality food only for the furbaby only for him/her to turn their little nose up at it?

P@H had Applaws dry on offer a few weeks ago so I bought a 2kg bag, on the basis that while Harry is super fussy about wet food he will eat almost any dry going. Ha! Silly human. The bag still sits in the cupboard, only half-eaten, and I occasionally mix some in with his beloved IAMS in an attempt not to completely waste good money

Yep if i buy MR Cheese anything other than his crappy Felix he wont eat it. He eats anything dry but wet food he wont even touch Applaws or HI Life.

So thats what he gets.

I am now stuck as to what to feed the 5 little kittens because we are running out of options. Hi Life is never touched and after finding the biggest toughest kidney in it i am not suprised.

Our kitten Hunter eats the Applaws dry that we leave down to graze, but Hermione doesn't touch it really.

Also, were on Natures Menu wet and now both have suddenly in the last week or so gone off two of the three varieties - very frustrating when you buy a value pack of 48.

You're not alone.

Re: Harry says 'meh' to Applaws

Mai Tai doesn't like the Applaws dry at all - I ended up giving a 2kg bag away to my son whose mad cat will eat anything. Oh for a cat that will eat whatever you put in front of it Natures Menu goes down okay one day and totally ignored another. I've just bought a load of Bozita from Zooplus so I'm hoping that the girls will still eat that. Hi Life is definitely off the menu - I can see my son going home with another load of cat food when he visits next week

Re: Harry says 'meh' to Applaws

Thats the biggest issue we have its ok people saying buy in bilk because its cheaper but what happens if your pet goes off that food or worse case senario doesnt touch it.

Mr Cheese will only eat Felix, we are now at the stage where we are at a loss what to feed our Female cat and kittens.

Im going to do trial and error on everything and i am even going to the vets soon with the kittens so i will ask him. My vet is pretty good at giving decent advice.

Oh yes, my boy cats are currently refusing to eat anything.. Even their trusty old NI mince they normally wolf down! I'm not giving in..

Re: Harry says 'meh' to Applaws

Mine like to alternate their food - they were happy with the Applaws for a couple of days and then decided they were bored with it. It can only be the good quality stuff, though. If I dare to try and palm them off with whiskas or felix, they don't speak to us for days.

They also seem to know if the dry food is "senior" food. Both are over 8, but are clearly not accepting it - even their favourite brands of biscuits will be left if I give the senior version!

Thats what we are doing now. We will alternate their food and see if that makes it better. I have just done it with the puppy and it worked so cats will get same treatment.
